DisneyLand aftermath

Wow. Disney land WAS cool. It’s been a while since I’ve spent time there with kids in tow and actually enjoyed it, but this time…

They have an awesome new thing there called the Jedi Academy. It’s where they have some Jedi instructors, and they grab a bunch of kids to come up, get robed up and learn some moves with a toy lightsabre. Then, Darth Vader and Darth Maul come up out of the floor and fight with them.

It’s all very cool and entertaining, and kids go wild for it. My little Amelia got picked twice, although it might have been because she was dressed up as Princess Leia. Am I a lucky dad or what?

Anyway, a good time in LA was had by all. I do like visiting that city, I have to say.

One thing that did wind me up is one of those incredibly annoying TShirts that people have, with drill instructor sayings on them.

The one I noticed most, and that just made me say ‘WTF?’ was the ‘Pain is weakness leaving the body’ one.

Ya know, that might work on teenage recruits, but those of us with any brain cells know that pain is in fact the body’s way of telling us something is wrong and not functioning correctly. This whole Macho bit of rubbish is easily defeated – just ask for a knife so you can stab someone or hack an arm off. That’s weakness leaving is it?

Yeah, right.

Anyway, back to work now. Back to the grind stone! At least I managed to finish up putting some of my console collection actually out on my office shelves! Couldn’t fit it all of course, but anything is better than nothing!
