My Own Stupid Fault.

So I’m listening to Zero Punctuation’s review of Peggle (By the way, you should do yourself a favor and go listen to all his reviews because they are Damn Funny and worth your time) and hearing him describe it as a cross between Pachinko and Pinball and alarm bells start ringing in my head.

I’ve been carrying this game idea around in my head for about 4 or 5 years now – it was number 2 on my list of things to do with my little game engine.

So I hurry to pop cap to download it and there it is, in all it’s glory. My game idea, right down to the angle prediction system.

Now it’s not exactly my idea – mine was about 20% divergent, but the basic mechanic is exactly the same. And now I’m kicking myself that I didn’t just get on with it and make it a while ago.

The idea has been validated, which is nice, but I’d rather I had validated it and gotten all the money.

It’s my own damn fault. So let this be a lesson to you. Go away and make your idea NOW because good idea’s occur to more than one person.
