Old Post

So I’ve been off work for a few days now.
And what a nice change it’s been.

I’ve had family in town for a while (brother is lecturing at some conference in Albuquerque), plus mother in law here for my little ones birthday. So we’ve been doing family / touristy stuff for the most part. Pier 39, cable cars, drinking Champagne in Napa etc.
It’s been great. No guilt about taking time off from a project etc.

Now though, I guess it’s time to start the job search in ernest. Start off by putting up the Resume on Linked In and Gamasutra, then start emailing;)

In the mean time though, I’m gonna reveal a bit more about my little home project I mentioned previously. Since I don’t work for EA any more I can reveal what it is. It’s an Xbox Live Arcade game. Or at least a prototype for one. I’m actually using all my experience to build the shell of an engine for a small Xbox Live Arcade style game, the kind that harkens back to the early days of making games.
I won’t go into too many details on what it specifically entails – at least not until I get some more stuff actually implemented – suffice to say I am going to document my experiences building the engine, trying to get trademarks and so on via this blog, so that others might get something out of this.

Eventually I’m even going to see if I can get Microsoft interested in this. Who knows? Gotta try, right? Besides, it’s writing code again, and that’s good for an engineers soul:)
